The first event was a three day Vacation Bible School. The theme of the Day Camp was Faith: A Fantastic Adventure in Trusting Him, this took place in the great Australian Outback. Over 60 young children ranging from ages 4-14 attended this VBS.
The children were split up into groups based on their age. Each group were guided to five different stations. The stations were: kitchen, games, craft, Bible and music. The MASTERS students were able to choose which specific area they wished to minister. Some chose to work in the kitchen, making the lunch for all the children. Others worked on the set design. Drawing Kangaroos, Koalas and Jeeps, the artistic students did a wonderful job transforming the church into the Australian Outback. Gibson spent the days at the game station. Playing fun filled games with every child, he learned the power of serving. As smiles spread across each child’s face, Gibson truly understood the importance of having child like faith. Three of our students were in charge of the Bible lesson. As a group they taught every child the story of Jesus’ resurrection and the power of faith. Challenging the children to memorize verses, the MASTERS students truly impacted each child in a fun filled environment. Samson and Jordan were tour guides. They each were in charge of a group of children and guided them to the various stations, where they connected with each child. Seeing them experience God deeper, Samson and Jordan also found a greater revelation of the Father.
The entire weekend was a wonderful opportunity for the MASTERS Students to impact the next generation for God’s Kingdom. All of the MASTERS were required to volunteer. However once the weekend was underway, what was at first a forced assignment transformed into life changing experience. Even Samson who stated in the past that he does not particularly like children’s ministry, enjoyed himself immensely.
Just a week after the VBS, our Students had the privilege of attending World Changers Youth Camp. God encountered each student in powerful ways. The Youth camp was a five day event filled with over 10 speakers, worship, evangelism, prayer nights, and bonfires. The main theme of the camp was No Limits. Many speakers talked of the unlimited purpose that each youth has in God. Every youth now has a deeper understanding of the call upon their life. Other speakers allowed the young people to ask questions to an experienced panel. The students asked some difficult questions and received biblical answers. The MASTERS students were forever changed by this event. Gibson experienced things he had never felt before, he specifically sensed the Holy Spirit burning within him. Cooking for all his peers, Gibson was a huge help throughout the Camp. Brian learned many leadership skills, as he was placed in leadership roles. He lead praise and worship and was allowed to give a spoken word to the church on Sunday. God broke down many walls in Christine’s heart throughout the Camp. She stated that in the past she always looked down on herself due to her looks. Now that she learned the unlimited love of her Father, she has renewed her mind to what the Bible says about her identity. She now knows that she is equipped with everything she needs to change the world.
We were all very proud of the students and how much growth they experienced. God has awakened many gifts and talents in them. All that they experienced at the camp, they are now utilizing in their daily life. There was such a sense of ownership that the MASTERS students even received questions from young people inquiring about the program in the future. People saw how different the MASTERS Students were and desired what was in their hearts.
