It says in Scripture that God’s Word never returns void- so true! Mary, one of our students, shared this testimony today in class. Last week, after cleaning the classes and distributing the materials, Jeff shared a ten minute devotion on God’s promises and the power of laying on of hands. That evening at home, Mary’s mom was in significant pain in her chest. She called out to Mary for help. Mary went to her mother and touched her, but was too nervous to pray. Then she went back to her room. While in her room, Mary knew the Lord was reminding her of the devotion from the day and that she needed to go back to her mother and lay hands on her and pray. Right away, she heard her mother’s pain filled cry, calling her back. Mary returned to her mother’s side. Her mother shared how there was a debt that needed to be paid the next day and she didn’t have the money. Mary placed her hand on her mother and prayed for the pain to leave and for God to pour out a financial blessing. Her mother thanked her and said the pain was gone! Not only that, but soon after the prayer, someone came by and gave her mother the money needed to pay the debt! It was incredible to see the excitement on Mary’s face as she shared what God had done. She never had a testimony to share before and we could tell many of the other kids didn’t either… but the faith in the room rose and they all are eagerly looking forward to opportunities to have their own testimonies to share.
It was a powerful first day. We can’t wait to see the awesome work the Lord will do in these kids’ lives. Look out Chawama Compound an Army of the Lord is about to be unleashed.
